Life experiences are the vehicles used by motivational speakers. Traveling the highway of life offers people opportunities and challenges that fuel these experiences. Rich histories of lessons learned can and do provide the material that is used in the creating and presenting of work of a motivational speaker. The pace of life is so hectic that seldom do people stop to reflect upon their experiences. Most are too busy to think about how they got to be where they are. Expert motivational speakers take the time and energy to think, feel and become aware of personal stories and events. For some, it is remembering their challenge of climbing Mt. McKinley while for others it is clearing the cob webs in their minds and remembering the challenge of eating lunch in the school cafeteria for the first time. The magnitude is personal and the lessons are individual; each just as important as the next to the owner of the memories.

Expert motivational speakers have the ability to take their audiences vicariously on these "highways of life". They present with passion and energy. They gesticulate, move about and produce spirit that encompasses a room. Many people can write their stories but not everyone can deliver them. The art of holding an audience captive with no medium other than oneself is a skill mastered only by the best. Part story teller, part entertainer, the expert motivational speaker can bring a room to laughter one moment and on the verge of tears the next. Motivation comes from thoughts and feelings of wanting, of seeing how it could be, of doing what has not been yet done. Expert motivational speakers awaken these thoughts and feelings in their audiences and once done, drive the vehicle through. Those traveling the journey with the speaker oftentimes find themselves ready for a challenge, a change, a new focused purpose or goal. These challenges and changes often are work related but not always. Audiences can be moved to look at personal challenges as well. An expert motivational speaker convinces the listeners to walk away from the keynote presentation or seminar or workshop and take action: action to be productive, action to be held accountable, action to be trustworthy, action to be stronger in purpose and action to admit weaknesses.

So why are expert motivational speakers hired to deliver a keynote presentation or conduct a seminar? Remember the "highways of life" and how crowded and hectic they are? Well, these highways change so rapidly in today's world of business, the skills needed to produce last year are no longer effective this year! The reality that "work" can not be done the way it always has been is visible daily. New tools, new technology, new products arise as fast as the speed of light and we are challenged to keep up with and deliver the product on time and quicker than ever before. We can only rise to these challenges if we take the time to reflect on where we where, and where we are going and where we want to be. An expert motivational speaker can open a mind, set a tone and lay out the need. The need to keep a work force engaged, passionate and motivated is paramount to success in today's competitive world. It is in everyone's best interest to have a workforce that cares , that believes they make a difference, that can see the challenges and wants to be part of the team.

Those personal journeys and the stories they tell are the lessons acquired on this "highway of life". A person coming home after a three day weekend only to drive into their driveway to see water flowing out from underneath her front door is a story. The person who finds out at 35 that her mother is really her aunt, that her aunt is really her biological mother, that her sister and brother are really her cousins, that her cousin is really her half sister, that her dad was not really her dad is a story. How about the child that was told he wasn't smart enough to go to college and ended up with a successful business career? That's a story. The list has no limits. These experiences along the "highway of life" are the fuel used by an expert motivational speaker to ignite the care and will in the human spirit.
