Fifty years ago, children with Cystic Fibrosis rarely lived to attend elementary school. These days, thanks to numerous researchers, many people with the disease live to see their 30s.
Volunteers regularly facilitate research advances. With this in mind, Megan Linville, a singer/songwriter from Nashville, organized a fun-filled evening crammed with country music and pleasant spirits. More than 250 fans and friends gathered around a bonfire to enjoy performances by several talented musicians. Laura Cash, The Peasall Sisters, Dave Isaacs and the DI Trio, John Raven, Charlie Cook, Craig Winquist as well as LaTresa and The Signal joined Linville in her efforts to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Although this year was the primary Pickin’ Party, volunteers hope to make it an annual occurrence. The event, which took place just outside of Nashville on a brisk, November evening, raised about $7,000.
